July Board Meeting and Strategic Planning Sessions
Greetings Neighbors!
I hope this newsletter finds you well. I was traveling with my family for most of July, which was a refreshing break. We are back now and getting ready for school to start! I wanted to share a few updates and important information with all of you.
July Board Meeting
Unfortunately, I missed the July Board meeting due to my travel schedule. However,it sounds like it was a very busy meeting with lots of information that was shared with the community. Here are a few highlights-AMNA shared an update on their tree proposal, Director Watford shared CASE Conference notes, Director Hogle shared the new Committees and the Personnel Committee shared an update on the process to hire a new District Manager.
July Strategic Planning Sessions
I was in town for both of the Strategic Planning sessions held in July. They were very productive and all the directors worked very hard to begin to create a plan and vision for AMLD. The board is committed to creating a cohesive plan for our district, and it's our intention to host a neighborhood meeting to share the results of our strategic planning with the community. We will announce the date and time for this meeting soon!
Meetings this week!
There will be another Strategic Planning session this Saturday at 10am. Additionally, we will be having our regular Board of Directors meeting tomorrow night at 6:30pm. We will be covering a lot of important information, and we appreciate everyone's patience and support as we continue to work on these plans.
Please see the posted agendas for each meeting Thursday's Board Meeting & Saturday's Strategic Planning.
Board Meetings VS Strategic Planning Sessions
As part of my ongoing efforts to keep you informed and engaged in the decisions that shape our community, I wanted to clarify the differences between our typical board meetings and strategic planning sessions. Please be aware that strategic planning sessions may run longer than our regular board meetings due to the depth of discussions involved. We understand that your time is valuable, so please do not feel obligated to stay for the entire duration of these sessions. We only had one resident stay for the entire length of the strategic planning sessions in July.
Board Meetings: Our regular board meetings are designed for making decisions and taking action on agenda items. These meetings follow a structured agenda where votes are cast on various matters affecting our neighborhood.
Strategic Planning Sessions: In contrast, strategic planning sessions are focused on discussion and exploration of ideas. During these sessions, no final actions or decisions are made, and no votes are taken. The primary goal is to develop a framework and vision for our district for the upcoming year and beyond.
Thank you!
Thank you for your continued engagement and involvement in our community. We appreciate your patience and understanding that progress may seem slow. Please know that we are dedicated to making thoughtful decisions that will benefit our community in the long run. We are working hard to build a better future for all of us, and your continued involvement and support are crucial. I look forward to seeing you at the upcoming meetings!
Please continue to reach out to all the board members with your ideas or concerns.
