March 13th AMLD Board Meeting
Greetings Neighbors!
We are off to a very busy and beautiful Spring! I hope that you all are enjoying this ever-changing weather. We’ve been busy here in the neighborhood, and I’m excited to share some of the updates with you.
March 13th Board Meeting
Citizen Communication
One resident expressed his gratitude for the board attending the Tree Groundbreaking Ceremony. He was also happy that we are showing up to the Open Play Pickleball Event.
Another resident shared his conversation with the City of Austin about moving the bus route on Millwright Parkway to Pecan Creek Trail. He mentioned that the City had placed the route on Millwright because it needed a traffic light at Anderson Mill, but with the new traffic light at Pecan Creek and Anderson Mill, he’s advocating for the route to be moved to Pecan Creek vs Millwright, where there are no outward-facing homes. He shared that he explained this to Krista Laine’s staff at the Town Hall.
Committee Assignment Changes
Please join us in welcoming Trevor Mazur to some AMLD committees. Director Mazur will be contributing his expertise to the Architectural Control Committee with Director Chaney and the Facilities Committee with Director Watford.
District Priority Review and Update
The board has agreed that our current priority is to find a new District Manager, Aquatics Supervisor, and Bookkeeper. We will be taking up this topic again at the next meeting for further discussion.
Interim District Manager
Director Watford has stepped into the role of Interim District Manager while we begin our search for a new District Manager. We are extremely grateful for her stepping up during this transition, and we appreciate your patience as we work through this process. The staff has been wonderful in supporting the neighborhood during this time, and we are confident in their continued efforts.
Aquatics Supervisor
We are currently interviewing candidates and are hopeful this position will be filled soon. We appreciate your patience as we work to find the best person for this important role in our community.
Solid Waste Committee Update
Director Watford spoke with Republic Services about a potential price increase that was scheduled for January. She explained that Republic is now reconsidering the increase, after she asked them to take into account that it’s a contract renewal year and the feedback from residents regarding bulk services. Republic is currently reassessing the price increase at this time.
