October 24 AMLD Board Meeting
Greetings Neighbors!
I hope this message finds you well and you are enjoying the beautiful fall weather! It was fantastic to see so many of you at the Candy Crawl—what a great turnout and fun way to connect with neighbors! Thank you to everyone who was able to attended our last board meeting—it was great to see your engagement and hear your valuable input.
Road Debris in Bike Lanes
During Citizen Communication, a concerned resident raised an important issue about debris accumulating in the new bike lanes. Specifically, she wondered if we could coordinate with Urban Dirt to blow out the debris while they are already blowing the grass. She was concerned that the street sweeper wouldn't be able to navigate around the "armadillo humps" in the bike lanes. We shared that the City would be able to provide more details on how they plan to address this and clean the bike lanes at an upcoming event.
Committee Structure
A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to defining the committees we hope to establish in the future, as well as determining their roles and functions. The goal is to create a solid framework for our board to work more efficiently and accomplish more in the years ahead. While the discussion was lengthy, we made significant progress in defining these committees' purposes and responsibilities.
Budgeting Reports
The board discussed the need for clearer expectations regarding budget reports. The District Manager, Rick Ramos asked for a more defined understanding of what the board expects when requesting budget updates. We agreed that it’s crucial to have a clear picture of our operational budget on a monthly basis. Moving forward, we will explore existing and new budgeting software options to help make this process smoother and more transparent. As we go into the next year, we agreed to show each other grace as we work through this together.
Strategic Planning
Due to time constraints, we postponed our discussion on strategic planning to our next meeting. This will be an exciting topic in the near future, so stay tuned for updates.
Community Bike Ride
We have an exciting event coming up on November 17th at the El Salido Pavilion from 1pm-3pm! Get There ATX is hosting a neighborhood bike ride in partnership with Purple Sage PTA, and it’s free to attend! A representative from the City of Austin will be at the pavilion to answer any questions about the new bike lanes in our area. Come learn about some bike safety and future planned improvements. The event will begin with a community bike ride led by Ghisallo Cycling Initiative and end with pizza and snacks. Please RSVP so the City of Austin can plan for enough pizza and swag to go around. Even if you're not planning to join the bike ride, we’d love to have you come out and enjoy the event!

Board of Directors Place 5 Vacancy
Anderson Mill Limited District currently has a vacant position on its Board of Directors (“Board”). The Board will appoint a new director to serve the remainder of the term for that position. Interested residents may submit a resume and a letter of interest indicating why they want to serve on the Board and what skills, talents or experience they have. The Board especially hopes to find candidates with financial and/or technology backgrounds who can contribute immediately to initiatives and strategic plans that are under discussion. The Board will review all candidates’ submissions and select one who must be confirmed by a majority vote.
The District will accept letters of interest until the vacancy is filled. All applicants must be at least 18 years old, a resident of the State of Texas, and a resident of the District.
Please submit your letters of interest via email to districtmanager@amld.org or in person at the AMLD office at 11500 El Salido Pkwy, Austin TX 78750.
Upcoming Meeting
Our next board meeting will be tomorrow night at 6:30 PM. Here is the Agenda for you to view. We hope you can join us as your input is crucial to the direction of our neighborhood. We encourage all residents to come and share their thoughts during Citizen Communication.
