December 12th AMLD Board Meeting

Greetings Neighbors!

I hope you all enjoyed the holiday season with your loved ones. As we step into the new year, I look forward to another wonderful year of optimism, joy, and growth for our neighborhood. Let's continue to come together and make this a year to remember!

As we wrapped up 2024, I'd like to share some highlights from our December board meeting. It was a month full of community spirit, progress, and heartfelt moments.

A special highlight of the meeting was when the board paid tribute to Mrs. White for her outstanding 34 years of service to our community. Mrs. White’s contributions have been invaluable, and she will be forever missed. We wish her all the best in her well-deserved retirement.

Community Comments

AMNA's president provided an update on the Tree Grant. We are hopeful that our neighborhood will be awarded this grant, which would allow us to plant new trees throughout our parks and trails. A huge thank you to our residents who contributed to the tree planting campaign, raising an impressive $3,400! Well done, everyone!

The AMNA Court Committee also shared an exciting proposal for a community pickleball open play program. The game will be open to players of all skill levels, with sessions twice a week. This open court concept will be further discussed in the Parks Committee in upcoming meetings.

We also received a request from a resident asking that Urban Dirt avoid mowing down the wildflowers in the creeks. Our District Manager will take this into consideration moving forward.

2023/2024 Annual Audit Report

Our annual financial audit was another key point of discussion. The auditor shared the results, and we are proud to report that AMLD received the highest rating! Congratulations to everyone involved in maintaining such a high standard of financial management.

Personnel Policy Review

The board recently approved updates to the personnel policy, including the introduction of a dress code for employees. This new policy is designed to create a more professional and unified atmosphere, ensuring that staff represent our community with pride and consistency.

Community in Committees

In other exciting news, the board approved the inclusion of community members in certain committees, allowing for greater involvement and input from residents. While the website update to reflect this change is still under construction, we’re excited to announce that it will be launched soon, making it easier for everyone to get involved and stay informed.

Park and Recreation Fees

We also discussed potential changes to the parks and recreation fees. Given the complexity of the issue and the need for further analysis, we’ve decided to hold a dedicated working session in January to ensure we give this matter the attention it deserves.

Spring and Summer Guide
The board spent significant time reviewing the Spring and Summer Guide, aiming to create a more consistent format. We decided to hold off on approving it until we can make further edits during our January meeting.

Reconstitution of the Board
Lastly, we reconstituted the board, and I am excited to announce that Director Watford is now the Treasurer. I’m honored to take on the role of Secretary. We still have an open board seat, which we will fill at a later meeting. Director Chaney was unable to attend the December meeting, so that decision will be made in due course.
